Personal Subscription and Order Information

Personal orders are for personal use only by the individual subscriber, and are not to be used in a library, corporate R&D department, or shared with others at an institution. To qualify for these rates, you must pay by personal cheque, money order or credit card and agree that your subscription is for personal use only. Individuals may order personal subscriptions online.

Activate Online Access

If you are an individual with a current personal subscription, you will have online access to Annual Reviews after you complete the online activation process. For instructions, please visit our Online Activation Page.

All personal subscriptions include online access to the subscribed volume. Print volumes are subject to available inventory.

  • Prices and policies are subject to change without notice.
  • We do not ship sample copies.
  • Individuals: Prepayment required on new accounts in US funds, checks drawn on a US bank or charge to VISA, MasterCard, or American Express.

Students / Recent Graduates: Receive a 30% discount off the retail price. Requirements:

  1. Must be a degree candidate at, or a recent graduate within the past three years from, an accredited institution;
  2. Must present proof of status (photocopy of your student I.D. or proof of graduation date);
  3. Must order directly from Annual Reviews;
  4. Prepay. The student/recent graduate discount does not apply to Institutional buyers, standing orders, online publications, or order handling fees.

Note: Students or recent graduates ordering by telephone must supply (by fax or mail) proof of status.

Additional Ordering Information

Professional Society Members: Many societies offer Annual Reviews to members at reduced rates. Contact Annual Reviews or your society membership office for details.

US state sales/use tax may apply, please contact [email protected] for additional information.

Canadian orders, please remit applicable provincial sales tax. Registration #121449029 RT.

Purchases of electronic services in Japan may be subject to the reverse charge mechanism for consumption tax.

Please note that we DO NOT sell books on a consignment basis.

Returns Policy

All returned materials are subject to a 15% restocking fee, no exceptions. (Restocking fee does not apply to individual customers). Shipping and handling charges are not refundable.

The Annual Reviews Customer Service department must authorize all returned materials and a Return Authorization Number will be provided if returns are accepted. Any materials returned without a valid Return Authorization Number will be sent back to the customer at customer’s expense and no credit will be issued.

Authorization to return will be granted only if requested within 60 days from the initial ship date.

All returns must include the original PO# or the invoice number, title, volume number, quantities or check number if appropriate. No materials will be processed without this information.

Upon receipt of an authorized return, the material will be processed only if they are received in perfect resalable condition. No credit will be issued for damaged goods. Please note that all materials should be boxed carefully to avoid the possibility of damage.

All materials purchased at a discount will be credited at that price.

Claims Policy

We only honor claims made within 4 months of the ship date.

Prior to submitting a claim, always:

  1. Confirm via our Expected Online And Print Publication Dates that the title has been published.
  2. Allow adequate delivery time. (Two weeks for domestic ground, 6 to 10 weeks for domestic 4th class, 4 to 12 weeks for international.)

If the book has been published and your delivery time has elapsed, you will need to file a claim with Annual Reviews. Please provide us with the following information:

  • Your complete name, address, phone number and email address
  • The Annual Review title and volume number
  • The invoice number and account number
  • Check number, credit card number or bank transfer number

In order to process your claim in a timely manner, please email your claim to [email protected]. Please include “claims/non-receipt” in the subject line.

Duties and Taxes

International customers may be subject to import duties and taxes once the shipment reaches their country. All duties and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient. Annual Reviews has no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Contact your local customs office for additional information.

Shipping Options

Postage is paid by Annual Reviews (Special 4th class / surface mail). Expedited shipping is available. (Street address and telephone number required. P.O. Boxes are not acceptable.) Please contact Annual Reviews Customer Service department for actual cost.

Note: Orders can take up to 4-6 days to process, and then are shipped via your preferred method. Please factor in this processing time when placing your order.

Handling Fees

There is an additional $6.00 per volume handling fee applied to all orders, maximum $18.00 handling fee for each ship-to location. Handling fees are not subject to any discounts, and may be subject to US state sales/use tax or Canadian GST/HST.

Standing Orders

Save 10% when you set up a standing order and enclose payment with your order. The new volume in a series is sent automatically each year upon publication. Continue to save 10% each year by payment of prerelease invoices sent 4-5 months prior to the publication date. You may cancel at any time. Standing order discounts cannot be combined with any other discounts or promotional incentives.

Prepublication Orders

Orders for volumes not yet published will be charged to your account upon receipt. We will not ship volumes before the month of publication indicated.
